Introducing Asus FonePad Mini, 2 in 1 Device



The Padfone Mini is the latest device from the series of Asus and the momentum lies that is the mini version of its previous models like Asus PadFone and PadFone Infinity. The most unique feature about the device is that it is an intelligent combination of tablet and smartphone as one integrated device.


The PadFone Mini from Asus is a gamut of mobiles from previous devices like PadFone devices, FonePad phablets and ZenFone series devices. It is a 2 in 1 device that is made of 4” mobile and slots into the back a 7” tablet.

Display and Design

The device features a 4.3” 540*960 resolution that can be linked to a PadFone Station with a 10.1” tablet. The Asus PadFone 2 was launched in 2012 with a display of of 4.7” 720p interfacing with 10.1 PadFone station.

Its design is the USP of the device is that users can switch from smartphone to tablet with great ease. It is impressing the buyers with its overall build measuring 199.85*119.43*13.91mm and weighs 116g.

Camera

Asus Padfone device has an 8MP main camera and 2MP front-facing camera. The 8MP camera is easy to use and its autofocus is fast and easy to operate that enables switching from front to back and video mode.

With its you can click decent images, but clicking in low light conditions can be tough.

Processor and RAM

The device is powered by Intel Atom Z2560 processor with 8GB internal storage and a micro SD slot. It gives you a great feel in your hands as it performs well. With Snapdragon 400 at 1.4GHz is no sluggish.

The device shows a marginal improvement when works in smartphone mode in GPU testing where some pixels aids its overall efficiency.

Battery
The device has 2 batteries, the mobile has a 4” 800*480 display and a tablet has 7” 1280*800 display. Its internal battery is 2100mAh battery and can be used at a go.

A small battery comes with 1500mAh in the phone. In total the device gives you altogether a 3700mAh.

Performance and Software

Asus is ahead of other players like HTC and Samsung and is one of the best Android UI’s in the market. The device does well when it comes to its performance.

Previous devices like Asus Zen UI and PadFone are best at their own places. Asus PadFone Mini keeps the experience efficient and makes multitasking possible.

Price

Asus FonePad Mini is not available worldwide. This hybrid device comes with aggressive pricing and it is indicative of how devices the aggressive smartphone entry to mid-range tablet markets have become.

In the tablet space, this device is competing with Nexus 7.
